Deep in the glass greenhouse, beneath a pane of warm light, grows one of the rarest plants in the world. And this spring, something extraordinary happened to one particular root: it flowered. Five large blooms, a rich violet that no one could quite name, each with a fuzzy golden centre. The Mandrake has been grinning ever since β a slow, deeply satisfied grin that it simply cannot stop. To keep the flowers going as long as possible, it holds a small cup of Root-Grow potion and takes careful little sips throughout the day.
Nearby, in its own terracotta pot, sits the Greenhouse Guardian. Plump, serious, with vivid emerald eyes and a crown of bright green leaves. It holds a bundle of old keys β the keys to the glass greenhouse β and it does not give them to just anyone. The expression makes this entirely clear.
Both Mandrakes are sculpted by hand from premium polymer clay and tinted with dry pastels. The eyes are handmade from glass β each one unique, with that unsettling quality of seeming to follow your movement no matter where you are in the room. The leaves sit on flexible wire frames: they hold their shape but can be gently repositioned.
The terracotta pot is real β earthy and imperfect in the way that terracotta always is. Inside it, a bed of stabilised moss that stays green without any watering, ever.
